The Morere Hot Springs on New Zealand’s East Coast is a special place. Morere Hot Springs is one of the world's most rejuvenating natural hot springs due to its unique mineral waters.
Derived from the ocean, the water is often described as fossilized sea water. Set among 364 hectares of a native rain forest reserve, it offers beautiful walks, five thermal pools, two swimming pools, and a variety of accommodation.
The springs produce 250,000 litres a day of ancient sea water. The water emerges from a fractured fault-line running across the Mangakawa valley and is piped to a series of public and private pools. Best known are the Nikau pools which are a 10 minute walk into the rain-forest.
Public and private pools of different temperatures rich in therapeutic minerals make Morere Hot Springs an idyllic spot for total relaxation.
The forest surrounding the Morere Hot Springs remains as one of the last tracts of native rainforest on the east coast of New Zealand. Very much part of the local community, it is welcoming more and more visitors from around the world. . |
